I thought that I would post my communion thoughts here. This provides a good "journal" space for me...
COMMUNION
THOUGHT & PRAYER – 19 MAY 2019
As we think
about communion, in that upper room, Peter, like me and perhaps like you,
declared his fealty to Jesus. What did Jesus lovingly tell Peter? “Before the rooster crows you will deny me 3 times.”…and
Peter did…we as humans fail Jesus, but the GOOD NEWS, the HOPEFUL and
AMAZING NEWS is that Jesus NEVER fails us!
Out of all the
moments in time, all the cultures, continents, and nations, God has placed us
here, right now to take part in His glorious plan…and what is that plan? Jesus
said in Matt 16:16: “I will build My church &
the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”
So, no matter
if today you are in a valley, a plateau or a mountaintop, remember Jesus &
His sacrifice for you and me. Remember His victory over death itself, let
us approach the table, with a sense of LOVE,
JOY, HOPE
& VICTORY!
Would you pray
with me?
In PHILIPPIANS
2:10 we read that God Himself exalted Jesus, and that “at the name of Jesus
EVERY knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth.” As we remember
Jesus going to the cross we should remember His love, joy, and victory over
death itself and we should be filled with hope.
Father God,
thank You for loving us enough to send Your precious Son, Jesus.
AMEN
