From AVV Staff Meeting--CHAPLAIN-- 11 Jan 2026
One of my goals to complete before July, our nation's 250th
anniversary, is "The Making Of America" which was published by the
National Center for Constitutional Studies."
Psalm 46:1-10 (excerpts)
God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in
trouble. Therefore, we will not fear…Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall; He
lifts His voice, the earth melts. The LORD Almighty is with us; He makes
wars cease to the ends of the earth. He says, “Be still, and know that I am
God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”
The danger we face in the United States isn’t Trend de
Aragua…it isn’t Illegal aliens, it isn’t the huge deficit we have drawn
ourselves into…oh, and it isn’t Gov-elect Spanberger. No…we can look at what
has been repeated through the Biblical narrative…when the people abandoned God,
He no longer protected them.
As we continue in our resolve to get more Virginia veterans
engaged in the process of simply voting, let us do so with a peace in knowing
that we are not in control…God is. Let us not forget to honor His power and
majesty daily. Our Founders sat down to
invent a government that was designed to provide its people with freedom,
prosperity, and peace. They did so under the umbrella of our
Creator and operating with the consent of an intelligent and informed
electorate.
Lord, as we enter 2026, help us to help our fellow vets
become more prayerfully informed…help us to provide truths that encourage our
nation's freedoms, prosperity, and peace…help us to always remember to exalt
YOU, Lord above all!
